The Sonic Pyramid is an electronic musical instrument designed by Andrew Jarowenko, Michael Nuzzolo, Greg Bento, and Thomas Klimek.
It was originally envisioned as a collaborative "jam station" for three players with each controlling one face of the instrument, but it is also effective as an instrument for a single performer.
Harmony, effects and various other functions are controlled through a button matrix, while pitch and expression are controlled on pairs of pressure-sensitive circular touch strips.
More information about The Sonic Pyramid can be found at the Tufts EMID site.
The Yayguitar
The Yayguitar is an instrument designed and built by Andrew Jarowenko, Josh Brown, Sawyer Mclaughlin, and Matt McDonald.
The Yayguitar consists of two strings coupled respectively to springs which are in turn coupled to two resonating chambers. This combination results in a massive, echoey reverb and wild brittle harmonics reminiscent of sul ponticello cello.
It is heavily inspired by Görkem Sen's Yaybahar, packing much of the Yaybahar's acoustic madness into a smaller and more portable form factor. The Yayguitar is well suited to horror movie scores and vast, contemplative soundscapes.
